Privacy policy

Tavi La Si is an ear training website and app published by Yoav Trabelsi, the data controller for the personal data described here. It is built to collect as little data as possible: there are no ads, no third-party trackers, and your data is never sold.

Using this website

You can use every exercise and lesson on this site without an account. Your practice statistics and preferences (instrument, pace, note spelling) are stored only in your browser's local storage on your own device. They are never sent to us, and you can erase them at any time from the Settings page or by clearing your browser data.

The leaderboard page reads public scores from our backend provider, Supabase. Like any internet request, that connection transiently processes your IP address for connection handling and security; we do not use it to track you.

Analytics on this website (with your consent)

This website uses Google Analytics to count visits and understand which pages help, but only if you accept the cookie banner. If you decline, or never answer, no analytics script is loaded and no analytics cookies are set. If you accept, Google Analytics sets cookies and processes usage data (pages visited, approximate region, device type) on Google's servers under Google's privacy policy. You can change your choice at any time on the Settings page (Reset cookie choice). The app contains no analytics at all.

Accounts (in the app)

If you create an account in the app, we collect your email address and password (stored only in hashed form by Supabase Auth), your chosen display name and avatar, and your gameplay results: scores, XP, streaks and friend connections. Your display name, avatar and XP appear on the leaderboards; your email address is never shown to anyone.

Guest mode sends nothing to our servers: guest progress lives only on your device.

What we do not collect

No location, contacts, photos, microphone or audio recordings, no advertising identifiers, no payment information (the in-app currency is earned by playing, there are no purchases), and no analytics SDKs or third-party trackers in the app.

Sharing

Data is disclosed only to Supabase, Inc., our backend hosting provider, which processes it solely on our instructions on servers in Switzerland (AWS Zurich region), and to other users only as the leaderboard information described above. We would disclose data to authorities only if legally required, and we have never received such a request.

Retention and deletion

Account data is kept for as long as your account exists. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data from inside the app (Settings, then Delete my account) or by emailing us; we complete deletions within 30 days. Data stored in your browser or on your phone is deleted when you clear it or uninstall the app.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, LGPD, PIPEDA), you may have rights of access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction and objection, and the right to withdraw consent. We extend these rights to all users regardless of location. To exercise any of them, email us; we respond within 30 days. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Children

Tavi La Si is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 (or the higher age your country requires). Guest mode, which sends no data at all, is available to everyone.
